Easy tofu
Tastes pretty good too, especially if you layer the tofu between the meat. And best of all, it's done in a microwave! Alternatively, you can also steam this dish. Also, if you simply mash the tofu and add everything together, you can sorta make an asian meatloaf :] Serves 2
200g ground pork or any other meat
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 dash ground black pepper
1 dash crushed red pepper flakes
1 (350g) package tofu, drained well
1 green onion, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped carrots or any other vegetable
1 chile pepper, chopped -optional
1. In a bowl, mix the ground pork with the soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, cornstarch, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Marinate at least 10 minutes.
2. Place the tofu in a microwave-safe dish. Place the pork over the tofu. Discard any remaining marinade. Top with green onion, carrots, and chile pepper. Cover with microwave-safe plastic wrap. Cut a small slit in the plastic wrap to vent steam.
3.Cook 5 minutes on High in the microwave, or until vegetables are tender and pork is cooked to desired doneness.
